In honor of the centennial of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, National Geographic, the National Audubon Society, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and BirdLife International has joined forces with more than 100 other organizations and millions of people around the world to celebrate 2018 as the Year of the Bird.
As we look forward to the year ahead, we thank those who have supported Audubon Arizona, and offer some recent highlights:- After a years-long fight, Audubon secured the protection of the endangered Southwestern Willow Flycatcher when the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service rejected a petition to remove the bird from the Endangered Species Act.
- River Pathways, our high school field biology program, will begin to deliver field trips to Black Canyon Heritage Park this spring, enriching the lives of more students and communities.
- The newly-launched Downtown Owls in-class program reached over 600 students in the fall, and is available to schools this spring.
- Our after-school River Keepers program reached twice as many children tin fall 2017 than in 2016.
These successes are made possible by you– by speaking out for birds, supporting crucial programs, and contributing to Audubon Arizona. Thank you! |
