As we navigate one of the driest years on record, please take part in Audubon’s first-ever Western Rivers Bird Count. Trees and shrubs along rivers are a critical component of healthy watersheds, and a main source of biodiversity in dry western climates like our Arizona desert. By collecting bird counts along rivers, you will provide important data that will help us protect birds and the places they need.
The count kicks off May 5 on Global Big Day, birding’s biggest day, and continues through the end of June.Audubon’s Climate Watch kicks off May 15, and runs through June 15. This program enlists volunteer birders across the country to count bluebirds and nuthatches in the same place to monitor the effects of climate change. Sign up here. |
