Spring semester is here and you know what that means – it’s time to get your students out of the classroom and into the field with Audubon’s River Pathways high school field trips! Through in-class lessons and outdoor experiences alongside Audubon biologists, the River Pathways program is designed to transform your students into community scientists and the next generation of conservation leaders.This free program includes:- In-class curriculum materials with Arizona-specific lessons on riparian ecology, plants and wildlife, and resource management.
- Freshly–updated field trips to the Rio Salado Audubon Center along the Salt River in South Phoenix that will introduce your students to plants, wildlife, survey techniques, and land management concepts – preparing them to go even further afield with Audubon!*
- Field trips to one of Arizona’s Important Bird Areas that put students to work collecting real-world data with US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management Biologists.*
- Paid summer field internships for students considering careers in conservation.
- Fellowship opportunities for graduated students looking for a deeper dive into conservation biology and education
* Transportation is available on a need-based and first-come first-serve basis.
