Start 2021 at PRAC

Kick off 2021 right with a visit to the Pascagoula River Audubon Center as part of our Nature and Nurture New Year!

The Center will open its gate at 8 a.m. for a day filled with kayaking, yoga, bird watching and designing. Admission is FREE with additional fees for activities.

Join Claire Faccini for an hour-long Yoga session at 8 a.m. or 10 a.m. for only $10. Come prepared to move and bring along your personal yoga mat. Due to COVID restrictions, each class will have a limited number of participants. To register, email us HERE to reserve your spot.

Miss Katie will offer bird watching and native plant walks around the site at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Bring your binoculars or borrow some of ours.

Wanda Norton will be teaching designing lessons using natural items clipped from around PRAC to create beautiful decorations. She will have a variety of materials to use, and there is no fee.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m., guests are welcome to tour Rhodes Bayou and Beardslee Lake from a kayak for one hour for only $5. Member kayakers are FREE. Kayak rentals and tours will continue until noon. To reserve your kayak time, send us an email HERE. Indicate your time and type of kayak. We have 10 single kayaks and two tandem kayaks.

Sunset, Songs and Spirits of the Holidays

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is to sing out loud for all to hear!

Visit PRAC for its first ever Sunset, Songs and Spirits of the Holidays Thursday, December 17 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Start the evening with an educational session with Miss Katie on providing nourishment to the birds during the winter months along with spirits, hot chocolate and snacks. Bring along your camera to head down to the Rhodes Bayou dock at 4:45 to experience, first-hand, the winter sunsets that decorate the sky and stay for a bayou sing-a-long as we join our voices for some favorite holiday songs.

Enjoy the remainder of the evening visiting with neighbors and friends along with a special visitor from the North Pole. The gate will close at 7 p.m.

This event is FREE for members! Non-member admission is $5 for adults and $2 for children.

PRAC Now Offers Infant and Toddler Attire

Do you have a future bird watcher in the family or one on the way? Check out the new infant and toddler items available in the Hidden Heron Gift Shop.

Pair these items with birds that sing, critters that can be painted or Friends Along the Bayou book written by Betty Oswald and you have an excellent gift!

Stop by PRAC during regular business hours or shop online for convenient and safe curbside delivery.

Holiday Operating Hours

The Pascagoula River Audubon Center will be closed for the holidays from December 23, 2020 until January 1, 2021. We will open at 8 a.m. for Nature and Nurture New Year Saturday, January 2, 2021 and return to regular operating hours January 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Last Minute Gift or Tax Deduction?

As a non-profit 501c3 organization, your donations to the Pascagoula River Audubon Center are tax exempt. Donations may be made in honor of someone, in memory of someone or as a gamily gift. Your donations provide educational opportunities for people of all ages.
