Eagle Ridge Ranch
High on Eagle Ridge Ranch in the hills south of Casper, Wyoming, birds sing from the vibrant sagebrush. The owner, Stacey Scott, knows that the birds are an indicator of the health of his ranch, and during this year’s dry summer they signaled trouble. But through conservation-minded strategies, Scott is adapting to drought and supporting birds, wildlife, and his ranch in the process.

New Solar Garden in Johnstown
We’re thrilled to announce plans for our newest Habitat Hero solar garden! After our success at Jack’s Solar Garden, we have an opportunity to plant another large-scale, bird-friendly garden around the perimeter of an upcoming solar array in Johnstown, Colorado, and you can help! Your contribution will not only help create bird habitat for years to come; it will also help us explore a new model for solar farms across the Front Range.

U.S. House of Representatives Introduces Saline Lake Ecosystems Bill
The recently-introduced Saline Lake Ecosystems in the Great Basin States Program Act would provide resources to the U.S. Geological Survey—in coordination with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and tribal, state, academic, and nonprofit organizations—to conduct scientific monitoring and assessments to establish effective management and conservation efforts to preserve Great Salt Lake and other saline lake habitats within the Great Basin network.
