Advocacy Day in Indiana
Audubon Members Flock to Indiana Statehouse to Push for More Renewable Energy and Wetlands Protections
Just in time for World Wetlands Day, this week Indiana residents and concerned Audubon members and experts from across the state gathered at the Indiana Statehouse to advocate for expanded access for renewable energy and protections for Indiana’s wetlands and other precious natural resources to protect birds, other wildlife and people.

More than 20 Audubon members and policy experts met with nearly 50 elected officials – including Indiana Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch – to share the important role that both wetlands and renewable energy play in reducing carbon emissions, contributing to economic growth, and ensuring that birds have healthy places to rest and nest. The day also included a speaking program, headlined by Rep. Mike Speedy (IN-R-90), who shared the importance of commonsense market-driven clean energy policies. Check out one of the local news stories and learn more about this important work.Learn more

Great Backyard Bird Count
Get Involved in the Great Backyard Bird Count
Calling all community scientists—Audubon’s 26th annual Great Backyard Bird Count starts Feb 17! Whether you’re a budding birdwatcher or a bird-count veteran, you can use your ID skills to help scientists protect birds and the places they need.  All you need is a willingness to learn and at least 15 minutes of observing birds from anywhere to report what you see to the Great Backyard Bird Count. This community science project provides Audubon and other leading ornithology groups with an annual snapshot of the state of birds across the world, as well as longitudinal data that shows trend lines over time. #GBBC
