Blair Visitor Center Update

We're Closing for 12 Days!

While our area was largely spared the worst effects of Hurricane Idalia and no damage was sustained at the Sanctuary, Audubon staff spent the following morning clearing tree limbs, branches, and a lot of leaf litter off the boardwalk. Our thoughts are with those who were impacted and we remain watchful as we approach the official peak of hurricane season on September 10.

Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary’s Blair Visitor Center and boardwalk will be closed from Sept. 11 through 22 for cleaning and minor renovations to improve our visitor experience. Our regularly scheduled guided tours will still be offered during this time.

We also want to remind all Florida residents to take advantage of discounted admission fees on the days we are open in September! Proof of Florida residency is required at check-in. Get tickets.

Promotion for Audubon Assembly with a Roseate Spoonbill

Join Us for Audubon Assembly!

Audubon Assembly will be held in person October 26-28 at the Sheraton Tampa Brandon Hotel. This year's theme is Conservation in a Changing Landscape. With learning sessions, a keynote presentation about conservation photography, awards, and field trips to some of the birdiest hotspots in the region, Assembly is a great opportunity to network with Audubon members, staff, and volunteers across the state. We will be there with merchandise from the Corkscrew Nature Store. Learn more and register for the 2023 Audubon Assembly.

Blair Visitor Center

If you like people and are looking for a part-time opportunity for employment, consider applying for one of our positions. The Membership Sales Assistant will serve as the key contact for Sanctuary visitors and members to drive membership sales and build relationships in the community. The Visitor Center Assistant will support Blair Visitor Center operations and guest services at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary including admissions, Nature Store and Cypress Cafe sales, and more. Wedding Venue Open House Oct. 5

Celebrate your special day surrounded by the majesty of nature at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. Join us for a tour of our three venues, including the wet prairie, outdoor amphitheater, and patio—each one a perfect backdrop for the big day. Enjoy light bites in our lobby as you visit with local wedding vendors who can help with all the small details. We’re even offering a 50% discount on any bookings received in September or October! Donations and memberships provide crucial support for conservation work at the Sanctuary. The Blair Audubon Center and boardwalk are open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the last admission at 1 p.m. Online tickets are recommended at www.corkscrew.audubon.org/visit.
