Blair Visitor Center Updates
Happy Earth Week!

We’ve had a fantastic spring and look forward to an exciting summer. Here are a few updates and reminders:
  • The Blair Visitor Center hours will return to the “summer” schedule. We are still open daily at 8 a.m., but from May 1 through December 15 the Center, Nature Store, and boardwalk close at 3 p.m. with the last admission at 1 p.m.
  • The Cypress Café kitchen will close for the summer but the Photographer-in-Residence exhibit will remain available for viewing in the café. You can find drinks, snacks, and sandwiches in the Nature Store.
  • If you purchase admission tickets or merchandise with a credit card, charges now appear as “National Audubon Society.”

Thank You, Herc Rentals!
We were thrilled to welcome twenty Herc Rentals corporate employees to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary for a morning of volunteer service in honor of Earth Month.

Some of the volunteers used loppers to trim back vegetation around the Sanctuary’s Blair Visitor Center to create a buffer for protecting the building from wildfire. Another group cleared a trail to serve as an access point for visiting researchers, school field trip groups, and other program participants. Two of the volunteers even picked up trash along the perimeter of the Sanctuary’s property to help us maintain a litter-free environment for wildlife, while several strong volunteers loaded a pick-up truck with tree limbs and plants four times. That’s a lot of overgrown vegetation!

Thank you, Herc Rentals, for partnering with us to power our conservation work!

Enrollment costs $235/week or $185/week for members. Scholarships and sibling discounts are also available.
