Our center and trails are located at 2295 State Rt. 89 in Savannah, NY and are part of the Montezuma Wetlands Complex, with many opportunities to learn and explore.
  • Center Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Girl Scout Badge Day at the MAC: Trail Adventure!
Saturday, May 18 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM

Girl Scouts of all levels are welcome to join us for a badge specific day, with a focus on on the Trail Adventure Badge! Our educators will introduce scouts to the basics of having a safe trail adventure and then take them on a guided hike through our trails.
  • Program Fee: $10 per scout / all adults free
  • Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.

Sunset Birding Hike
Saturday, May 18 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Learn about the Montezuma Audubon Center’s diverse array of habitats and the animals they support on a sunset guided hike of our trails! We will be looking and listening out for singing songbirds, Bald Eagles, and even Great Horned Owls!
  • Program Fee: $10 per person
  • For all ages. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Space is limited. Pre-paid registration is required.

Montezuma Wildflower Walk
Thursday, May 23 from 4:30 – 6:30 PM

May is one of the best times of year to see wildflowers in bloom! Learn more about these beautiful plants and their importance to birds while on a 1.5 mile guided hike.

At the end, participants will be able to take home seed packets of wildflowers native to the Finger Lakes region to plant in their gardens!
  • Program Fee: $10 per person
  • For all ages. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.

Ponding with an Educator
Saturday, May 25 from 10:00 AM  – 2:00 PM

Find out which critters are living just below the surface at the Montezuma Audubon Center with the help of dip nets and our education staff! Participants will have the opportunity to interact with live frogs, tadpoles, turtles, and the many insect larvae that live in our ponds.
  • Program Fee: $10 per person
  • For all ages. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.

Memorial Day Boating and Birding
Saturday, May 25 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM
Rivers Crossing Campground and Marina (508 NY-89, Savannah, NY 13146)

Kick off Memorial Day Weekend with a bird tour on the water! Our educators will lead this guided kayak tour along the Erie Canal as we look for ducks, heron, warblers, and other birds!

Birders and kayakers of all experience levels welcome! Participants are able to either rent or bring their own kayaks. Please see our event page for additional information about rentals.
  • Program Fee:
    • Child (no rental): $15 per person
    • Adult, 16+ (no rental): $20 per person
    • Adult, 16+ (with rental): $30 per person

Sunset Yoga with the Birds
Friday, May 31 from 7:00 – 8:00 PM

Enjoy a relaxing evening with the birds of Montezuma Audubon Center as you partake in a guided sunset yoga program, led by Linda Galbato of Pure Moon Yoga. This one hour of outdoor gentle yoga practice is open for those of all experience levels.

Limited amounts of yoga mats and blankets will be available to borrow, so we recommend participants bring their own, if possible.
  • Program Fee: $12 per participant
  • Recommended for ages 13+. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Space is limited. Pre-registration is required.

Kick Off the Summer Paddle at Rivers Crossing Campground
Saturday, June 1 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM

Summer is on the horizon! Join us for a fun Friday evening paddle on the Clyde River to look for ducks, herons, warblers and other birds, and to learn more about nearby aquatic vegetation.
