Join Us for Bird Story Hour!
Do you love stories about birds? Then you’ll love Audubon After Dark: Bird Story Hour! On October 17, join our Community Naturalists in sharing and listening to stories about birds with fellow bird lovers. This month, the theme is "Corvid Crazy! Crows, Ravens, and Magpies." Whether your story is about a crow that follows you home, a raven that brought you a gift, or another corvid encounter, we'd love to hear about it!  Register here

Birding Tours on Cattle Ranches?
Only in the last few years would you have imagined seeing the words “ecotourism” and “ranching” in the same sentence. But reconciling them provides an exciting frontier for grassland conservation. Through a new partnership with Reefs to Rockies, we launched birding tours on Audubon Certified ranches in Colorado this year!

Gillmor Sanctuary Workdays
Do you have a free Friday or Saturday this month? Gift it to the birds at Gillmor Sanctuary! Every Friday and Saturday morning in October, volunteers will work alongside Audubon staff to perform hands-on, gardening-like tasks at Audubon's Gillmor Sanctuary. The sanctuary provides critical breeding and migratory habitat for shorebirds at Great Salt Lake. Possible projects this year include removing invasive plants and barbed wire from bird habitat.

I Bird, I Vote!
Birds can’t vote, but we can. In addition to the much talked about federal races, there are state and local elections this year that will have a big impact on the future of our communities, habitats, and the birds we love. One of the best ways to protect birds and the places they need is to make sure you vote on or before Election Day on Tuesday, November 5.

Our 2024 Audubon Conservation Ranching Bird Monitoring Results
Like many of you, Audubon Rockies' Conservation Ranching (ACR) staff in Wyoming and Colorado had a goal this spring and summer to spot as many bird species as possible. Every year, our ACR team visits the Audubon Certified bird-friendly ranches in our region to monitor the local bird and plant populations. In 2024, we completed our second-largest monitoring effort to date, and bird activity was noticeably higher this year. Guess how many species we saw!
