Did you know that forest birds like Eastern Towhee, Scarlet Tanager, and Wood Thrush are experiencing population declines?

Properties in the Lyme Forest Block Important Bird Area can provide critical habitat for these and many other at-risk species.
Audubon Connecticut and partners are offering an exciting opportunity for landowners (and volunteers) in the Lyme Forest Block—a chance for your property to participate in a free forest habitat assessment.

Join us on April 4 for a free webinar (hosted on Zoom) that will provide an overview of this exciting opportunity. A forest habitat assessment is an inventory of songbird and forest habitat conditions. Through this opportunity, Audubon-trained volunteers conduct the assessment, and then the assessment and accompanying report become a resource for landowners who want to manage their woodlands with birds in mind. Landowners are under no obligation to implement recommendations.

This no-obligation info session is also open to potential volunteers who are interested in learning about forest health and engaging in forest and bird conservation. Volunteers who decide to participate in the Lyme Forest Block habitat assessment project are required to participate in forest habitat assessment training on Sunday, April 19.

RSVP is requested. For questions, more information, and to RSVP, please contact Kelly Morgan at kelly.morgan@audubon.org or 860-234-7630.
